Pepsi Cola collecting "past and present."

As I read some of these blogs I am concerned that political agendas are taking some of the fun out of collecting Pepsi items. I am sure every company out there has at some point been in the middle of a mess. I will try and stay focused on the fun part but may have to respond on other blogs or this one if need be .

Everyone who has followed Pepsi history knows all about "Brads drink" and how it came to be history . The bigger problem as I see It is the preservation of this company's place in It's history as related to the present and future. I have said many times to folks in sales and management that "we need to stay focused in our roots as Coke has over the years to maintain our following and brand loyality" . A good example is we are constantly changing our logo's for the "new generation." If you look at Cokes logo , it has been around since the beggining . If you trace Pepsi logo's there are a couple dozen or more . Other issues are the marketing campaigns of nostalgic items as compared to Coke . Pepsi seems to resist licensing it's history for fear of tarnishing it's future. The mindset at corporate may never change unless over time enough pressure from collectors brings about changes. While going back in time is impossible to retrive memorabilia , we can lobby corporate to release more licensing agreements , sell items from sales and vending as they trade out old for new , get with local Pepsi operations and salvage machines , signs , logo's and what ever else to preserve the history inspite of corporate geniuses .

I have other ideas as to help bring pressure to bear on these folks to help preserve it's history , but another time as I do not want to get long winded .

Thanks for reading and forgive my spelling !
